Belated Thanksgiving everyone. I got SO caught up yesterday in all the people (and dogs) for whom I am so deeply grateful – that I got overwhelmed and never thanked anyone. So with lame apologies – and plans for another gratitude-fest – I would like to introduce you to – and thank – my family of choice for being in my life and adding love and laughter that I just can’t get from LOL-ing online.
My dear, longtime friend John Duran and his mother Gloria and his father Eddie who have shared their family joy with a stray reporter like me:

My friends Diane Abbitt and Bernadette Abbruzze who call the three of us “The Golden Girls” and have dubbed me “Rose” since I apparently go on and on and on with my obscure story-telling:

My wonderful LGBT POV helpmates – Anthony Duran (aka Mac Genius), John’s straight nephew who believes the LGBT struggle for equality is the civil rights movement of his lifetime, and Syd Peterson, the extraordinary, savvy grassroots activist/analyst who I think is on his way to becoming one of our best data-based political thinkers.

My rescued “kids” – Charlie and Pepper:

And here’s to you, dear reader – thank you for giving me this opportunity to share my LGBT POV as well as the points of view of others in our meager attempt to create a conversation that might lead to a commonality upon which we might build a movement to – as my late friend Paul Monette urged – “heal the world.”
